* improve your breathing,

* ignite all of your 'moving systems' (circulatory/lymphatic/endocrine,    digestive, etc.),

* calm your mind and vagus nerve,

* strengthen your body,

* slow down the aging process,

* improve your self-esteem while reducing ego,

* and experience a profound sense of peace and well-being through      prana awareness and enjoying life more.

You will be guided through the techniques and philosophies of this ancient practice, helping you find balance and harmony within.  All of Gail's teachings are Swami Kripalu-inspired/respected.

YIN/YANG … a fundamental concept in ancient Chinese philosophy

that describes how seemingly opposite forces are interconnected

and interdependent in the natural world.

Yin represents qualities such as darkness, femininity, and passivity;

while yang embodies light, masculinity, and activity.

Together, they illustrate the idea that opposites can complement and

support each other, creating a balance that is essential for harmony in life.

In a yoga posture practice, a YANG class is more energetic/enlivening … ideal for the mornings or

afternoons.    So, YIN represents the more passive energy that engages the parasympathetic nervous system … destressing, soothing and unwinding you from the day.

YIN Yoga is absolutely perfect for an evening time slot, preparing you for a restful night of slumber.

Mindfulness Practice

Discover the art of mindfulness through everything we offer. Learn to cultivate awareness, reduce stress, and enhance mental clarity. Our time together whether in a class, workshop or special event is designed to provide practical tools for integrating mindfulness into daily life, promoting overall mental and emotional wellness ... not just on the mat.

"Genuine yoga is essentially a method, having both an inward and an outward aspect, whose aim is to bring the mind to total silence.  Patanjali, the acknowledged master in all that has to do with yoga, defines it in the first of his famous aphorisms as 'the cessation of all mental activity."

Swami Abhishiktananda (Henri Le Saux, Benedictine Monk to Yogi)

Guided
Meditation-in-Motion

Learn how to incorporate your strengthening and stretching with your inhales and exhales ... each move you make means something.  Each breath you share, offers something.  You take these lessons with you and use them in your daily world at work, at play with children/grandchildren and all family:  these skills can provide you with new perspectives and patience.

"We must have patience.  If our hearts aren't open to truth, truth will never enter our heart."  Swami Kripalu

Mindful Immersion

Our classes offer you so much more than the asanas (postures).  Along with learning them safely, we delve into the teachings of yoga philosophy, pranayama, and meditation. Our perspective is that practitioners in 'the west' need to deepen their understanding and experience of yoga, providing a holistic approach to mind-body wellness ... and capturing it all in the essence of truth.

"God has graced every tradition with insight into the divine mystery, from the most primitive to the most sophisticated-each has a gift to bring to the world."
